maintenance
silt removal
project (MSR) |
Description: TOP
SOIL FOR SALE (pending permits)
Friends of Opossum Lake Conservancy, under a license agreement with the
Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, will be conducting and paying for
a maintenance silt removal project at the north end of Opossum Lake
during the summer of 2009. Removal will begin following
receipt of permits.
This operation is expected to yield approximately 3,000 cubic yards of
silt/top soil which will be
available for sale to help FOLC offset the cost of the project. The
material has been tested and
qualifies as clean fill. Soil test results and a Certification of
Origin Of Clean Fill will be provided to all purchasers for their
records. There are no rocks in the material larger than one inch, but it
is unscreened. Soil analysis classified a composite of the material as
Brown Sandy Silt, including a combination of top soil, sand, silt, and
clay particles. A larger amount (6,000) of clean fill material (shale
and clay) is also available at no cost in large quantities for those who
can arrange loading and hauling. FOLC will be scheduling all deliveries
and coordinating loading efforts.
Trucking has been arranged with a local hauler to deliver a triaxle load
of top soil (approximately 12-14 cubic yards) within a five mile radius
of the site for the reduced price of $85 per load ($30 for the material
and $55 for loading and hauling). An accessible location on the
purchaser’s property must be identified in advance for dumping the load.
Please contact Steve Fealtman, FOLC President (977-1625
or steve.fealtman@sdf-consulting.com) to add your name to the list
of purchasers. We will send you a request form detailing your contact
information, quantity desired, and exact location of the dump site. Pre
payment will be required.
Thank You, FOLC.
